Wow, what a response, these Strawberry Hanging Basket Kits have really started to become quite a hit. Be patient with the growing process. Remember, good things come to those who wait, spectacular things come to those who endure. The "spectacular" part of this is having the discipline to pick the first set of blossoms off so the plants can exert all the energy to getting established and building a good root system so that when the second set of blossoms comes on, your strawberry hanging basket will provide you with some very tasty strawberries.
So hang in there!! If you live close by and can't wait for your basket to build up its energy, come by the greenhouse and get a taste for yourselves as to what you can expect in the months to come. Remember, the baskets that you come and pick from are exactly the same set up you are getting from us in the mail.
I had a couple come the other day and pick some strawberries from my strawberry hanging baskets in the greenhouse, and they were floored, not literally, by the incredible taste our berries have to offer.
Now, putting strawberries aside, if you love raspberries or blackberries, you have got to call my good friend Wayne McBride at "McBride's McBrier patch" here in Mapleton, Utah. Oh My, he and Joyce have some of the biggest and sweetest raspberries and blackberries I have ever tasted. Call him at 801-420-1309 and see for yourself what I'm talking about.
Now the rest of you who haven't ordered your own Strawberry Hanging Basket Kit, what on earth are you waiting for? You can't buy such tasty morsels in the store, or have them at your fingertips like you can having one of these on your own back porch. Come see me in the greenhouse. You can also visit us at "The Oasis" at the Spanish Fork Kite Festival coming
August 29 2009 up at the Spanish Fork Reservoir from 9am to 5 pm. We will be offering the Strawberry Hanging Basket there already grown and ready for you to take home. We will also be serving fresh mini "Strawberry Shortcakes" with fresh strawberries. Come see us there or just come down to the greenhouse on South Highway 89 at 2600 South. We are often confused with the other nursery up the hwy, keep coming south 1/2 mile if you're coming from the North. If you are coming from Spanish Fork canyon south, we are the 1st greenhouse/nursery on the right, across from all the white barns.
